About Troop 380:

Working as a team of Scouts, parents, and adult leaders, Boy Scout Troop 380 offers enjoyable and challenging programs for all Scouts to develop the confidence, skills, character and mental fitness that will allow them to give quality leadership to a changing society.

Troop 380 meets on Mondays at 7:30pm at St. Andrew Methodist Church at 5801 W. Plano Parkway in Plano, Texas. Our meetings are held on the 2nd floor in Festival Hall.

The Court of Honor will be held on Feb 25th from 2:00-4:00pm in Festival Hall.

Full Class A uniform is required for all Scouts and Scoutmasters. Parents and friends may wear casual attire. Parents will come to the stage and be recognized alongside of their Scout for rank advancement. Congratulations!

Rank Advancement will be recognized at the Court of Honor. Scouts that have earned rank have received the rank patch in recognition of completing all requirements and having a SMC and BoR. We will have a formal ceremony to award pins and cards for rank. Please be sure to thank Matt Dorsett and all the ASMs for helping the Scouts earn rank, and thank Mr Steve Tabanian for holding BoRs and keeping Advancement records. see email. Note: individual special awards/troop awards may not be listed - the report covers Rank and MB's.

Merit badges earned will be ceremoniously awarded. Cathy Black has worked diligently to get all in order. See email.

All Scouts - By Patrol - sign up and Please type your note to bring a snack item for the Court of Honor the following list is the assignment of food items types with an examples

Patrols:
Cobra - Salty snacks: chips, popcorn, pretzels, tortilla chips, salsa
Dragon - Sweet snacks: Cakes, cookies, candy, marsh mallows, fig bars
Ninja - Meat treats: sliced meat, meat balls, protein, ham, turkey, etc.
Ram - Drinks: iced tea, lemonade, ice, water
Scorpion - Cheese and crackers: Cheese, crackers, spread, saltines…
Shark - Veggies: veggie tray, carrots, celery, etc. and dip

Notes
1) The Troop has a supply of plates, cups and utensils in the Troop Garage.
2) We will rotate the menu assignment at each Court of Honor.

Summer Camp 2018

Reserve spots now!  The Webelos will cross over to Troop 380 and we plan to fill the bus! 

Summer Camp 2018 – July 7 – 14, 2018 – Medicine Mountain in South Dakota

Troop 380 is heading north to Medicine Mountain for summer camp in 2018.  We will also stop at Mt. Rushmore enroute to camp.  This is an exciting opportunity you won’t want to miss!

The October issue of Boys' Life is out and Troop 380 is on the cover! But more than that, the feature story in the issue is about our trip this year with Mr. Dowling to Palo Duro State Park.

This issue is a "keeper" so be sure to keep an eye out for your issue of Boys' Life!!

What Classes Do YOU Want?

Your PLC completed the program planning for the 2017-2018 Scouting year last Monday. As part of this effort, the PLC would like all Scouts to select up to six merit badges they would like to see the troop offer during the Scouting year which runs from September 2017 through August 2018.

Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey. The survey will be open until July 31st and then it will close. You can make and edit your selections until that time.

Merit Badge Counselors Needed!Troop 380 has projected merit badge courses for 2017-2018 and there is a need for counselors in several areas.

Critical List
Astronomy, Environmental Science, First Aid, Geneaology, Personal Management, Wilderness Survival

Volunteer and have fun teaching Scouts
Scouting is all about having fun and learning.  "Teaching" a merit badge course is rewarding and great fun. Do not hesitate if you don't know how to do this perfectly!  There are many skilled leaders in T-380 who will guide you: where to get a course book, teaching plans, and the fun of merit badges!
